Thereafter, it starts to decline until just under 2 million people use CoronaMelder in January 2022, when the number of users rises again to almost 2.5. million users.

If you have tested positive for corona, you can voluntarily indicate this in the app, together with an employee of the GGD. The graph shows how many people have done this after the national introduction of CoronaMelder on October 10, 2020.

Graph tests taken following a notification. An average of around 18 thousand, with peaks rising in December 2020 with nearly 49 thousand tests, and fewer tests taken in the summer months of 2021. The percentage tested positive has been increasing since December 2021.

The graph shows how many people had themselves tested after a notification from CoronaMelder, were found to have the corona virus, and how many of them had no symptoms of the corona virus.

Symptoms No symptoms

Chart of tests taken that were preceded by a notification per month, divided into number of complaints and no complaints. In the summer of 2021, fewer people were tested, and few people were positive without symptoms. This will steadily increase again from November, with record breaking numbers in March 2022.

61% of the people who did a corona test after a notification from CoronaMelder had not yet been approached from the regular source and contact research.
